About Alyssa
I am currently a student completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and in application with the CRPO to become a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) (title pending). The way I work is person-centred, trauma-informed, attachment-based, and feminist.
My goal when working with clients in therapy is to walk alongside you while you navigate the complexities of being human. I want to know who you are, how you are managing in this world, and what goals you have for your well-being. Together, we will explore and build resilience while I hold a compassionate, non-judgemental space where you can show up authentically.
I value autonomy first and strongly believe that you are the author of your own story and that therapy can provide a container to explore curiosity about wellness that can impact who you are and how you experience your life. I take a relational integrative psychodynamic approach and incorporate elements of narrative therapy, parts work, emotionally-focused therapy, and therapeutic writing.

More About Alyssa
I am a white, queer woman with a history of chronic pain, depression, grief, and all that comes with those experiences. I found profound healing through the experience of matrescence and many years of therapy and decided to shift my career from grassroots nonprofit work towards psychotherapy so I could focus on what I really love- supporting people in being well.
I am a proud mother to two little humans and a proud partner of a band dude. I am passionate about nature and can be found birding at the marsh or on the trail in the Boreal forest with my family. I am also a creative person who writes poetry and a community-minded person who is passionate about providing lactation support in my community. People close to me describe me as warm, open-minded, authentic, intuitive, and grounded. I use she/her pronouns and live on land stolen from Algonquin and Cree peoples also known as Northern Ontario.
